“Cities are where the climate battle will largely be won or lost”

- UN Secretary-General António Guterres

2150 invests in climate tech start-ups globally to reimagine and reshape the Urban Stack. We are looking for a growth-minded and analytical Visiting Associate to join us for a six month term (that could lead to a permanent position.)

As a Visiting Associate, you will see the inside of a climate venture fund and contribute to dealflow, diligence, and the investment team. We imagine that you are smart, motivated – and very interested in working to help combat climate change. You may be completing an MBA, or simply frustrated with your role in a large, established financial institution.

The role

  • As part of the Investment team, assist in financial due diligence, financial modeling and company analysis
  • Meet with entrepreneurs to discuss their companies, and contribute throughout the due diligence process
  • Debate on final investment decisions with the whole investment team
  • Support the 2150 sustainability framework through analysis and reporting
  • Help with various internal topics (e.g., events, blog posts, research, and more…)

What we expect

  • 2-4 years of experience in an analytical role in private equity, investment banking, M&A, or equity research (no previous VC experience required)
  • Advanced knowledge in financial diligence and modeling is required, including the ability to comfortably create a 3 statement financial model and structure a DCF analysis.
  • An educational foundation in finance, maths, analytics, or a quantitative discipline
  • Previous experience in the climate sector is helpful – a passion for climate technology is essential
  • Strong English language skills, both verbal and writing
  • A right to work in the UK. We are unfortunately unable to offer internship visas.
  • Structure: you can manage yourself, take initiative and work on multiple projects at once
  • Problem solving: you like solving problems collaboratively and with an analytical mindset
  • Flexibility: you have the versatility to work with the team on a number of core problems and don’t mind taking on any task at a high pace
  • Curiosity: you are a curious person eager to learn and constantly develop
  • Care: you are committed to creating more equitable and inclusive outcomes, both in the workplace and in the work you do while being a team player

About 2150

We are 2150, a global Urban Tech Sustainability Fund. We've been building for our entire careers – products and teams, neighbourhoods and cities, capital and companies – as entrepreneurs, operators and investors. Now, we're applying what we’ve learned, the networks we’ve developed, and the principles we believe in to build a new approach to venture capital.

We back technology entrepreneurs and inventors with Constructive Capital so they can reimagine and reshape the urban environment. By building companies that leverage structural shifts, remove inefficiencies and pain points, and enhance environmental upside, our portfolio has the potential to benefit billions of people, create billions in value, and lower gigatons of emissions.

Commitment to Diversity

A sustainable community is one that has a place for everyone, and 2150 is excited to have applications from all aspects of society. We believe that a team with diverse backgrounds and beliefs will make our mission and fund even stronger.

2150 is an equal opportunity employer.
