The Role:

OpenSolar is looking for a technically capable marketing and communications professional to lead the marketing of our products and services throughout the United Kingdom and European markets to solar installer companies and industry partners (e.g manufacturers, lenders), and ultimately end consumers (e.g. homeowners). The core responsibility of the role is to increase OpenSolar brand awareness, growth and monetization while working closely with both the UK & EU product and sales teams, as well as the global marketing team, to design and implement communications strategies.

The role will require an in-depth knowledge of core marketing tools and techniques for increasing product adoption, user engagement, and helping drive new revenue.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Communications calendar - Develop, execute, and actively manage the communications calendar for UK & EU markets across all marketing channels including email, social, blog, in-app, and in-person events
  • Collaboration - Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. partners) to deliver compelling, localized content and messaging to increase awareness and adoption of OpenSolar with solar professionals
  • Go-to-market - Design and execute go-to-market launch strategies for OpenSolar features, as well as partner products & services
  • Partner marketing - Work closely with partners to co-market the relationship to our respective bases and increase brand awareness and adoption of partner products & services
  • Copywriting - Lead copywriting draft, review, and execution for email, social, blog, in-app, website, webinars, in-person events, and PR & media marketing channels
  • Content creation - Create and curate first-pass content for all communication channels (i.e. using Canva)
  • Brand development - working closely with leadership, create powerful mission-oriented brand narratives and communicate them through social media and other channels
  • Lead generation - Implement lead generation strategies to build and maintain a pipeline of potential customers
  • Monitoring and analytics - use data and analytics tools (i.e. Hubspot, GA4, etc) to track the performance of marketing efforts, assess return on investment (ROI) and adjust strategies accordingly

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, business administration, or related field
  • Experience in marketing, communications and the technology field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and team working skills
  • Experience developing and implementing email and social strategies using platforms such as Hubspot
  • The ability to clearly relay technical information to non-technical customers
  • A passion for creating copy and content, aligned to our brand and story
  • Bold, independent, self-motivated, innovative, passionate
  • Obsession with finding new ways of solving problems to get results and having fun with it
  • Terrific organizational capabilities
  • Experience preparing digital communications plans and reports
  • Understanding of audience segmentation and targeting approaches
  • Solar industry experience is preferred but not essential
