The Role:

The Business Development Associate role is a full-time permanent position based in the Philippines with a fully remote work setup.

Reporting to the General Manager - Australia & NZ, the primary objective of the role is to establish and maintain relations with OpenSolar’s strategic partners in this region. Additionally, the role is tasked with generating platform reporting for our partners all over the globe and assisting with some of the other regional Business Development teams. The role is also responsible for localizing the platform for new markets, researching and addressing pain points and platform opportunities for new users around the world.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Generate reports for existing partners around the globe, supporting their understanding and interpretation of the data
  • Identify and research potential strategic partners that could further OpenSolar’s mission
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships
  • Coordinate with partners and our data processing team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our global tariff and component database
  • Research and inform relevant stakeholders of opportunities in new markets
  • Work closely with strategic partners to understand and cater to new markets
  • Conduct reconciliations of our data with financial partners’ records
  • Represent and promote OpenSolar at relevant events
  • Coordinate with existing partners to develop and maintain a solar professional training platform
  • Work with the global business development team to share best practices and create a virtual team community
  • Document user feedback for product solutions, working directly with the OpenSolar development team.

What you’ll need:

  • Have a genuine passion for engaging new and existing strategic partners.
  • Research skills to uncover opportunities in new markets
  • Excellent communication skills - good listener with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Competence in managing user and partner expectations while working with a software development team
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Highly organized, good time-management and structured in your work style.
  • High attention to detail and a passion for problem solving.
  • Ability to think quickly and solve problems on the spot in a fast paced scale up environment.
  • The desire to positively contribute to shaping organizational culture and be part of a diverse team.
